Politicians and non-politicians alike have joined the conversation about the resignation of the former Vice president of Nigeria Alhaji Atiku Abubakar the Waziri Adamawa from the ruling All progressive Congress (APC). Atiku on Friday 24th November, 2017 submitted his resignation to the ruling party the APC stating that the Party did not keep to words and campaign promises as well it has failed to involved youths in its affairs. Although he did not declare his next place of aboard but members of the executive of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in his home state Adamawa had already called on him to pitch his tent with the his former political party.

On the social media some have criticized Atiku for being politically unstable and inconsistent. Counting the fact Atiku had jumped camp for the third time in less than 20 years. Dr. Umar Ardo is one of the opinion frontlines. He posted on his Facebook profile page about how he thinks Atiku has moved severally from one political party to the order in a desperate search for power.

Others are of the opinion that Atiku is a power to reckon with in any political party. Hon Sanusi Faruk a former House assembly member in the Adaamawa state house of Assembly and a strong PDP member wrote on his Facebook profile page that Atiku’s exit from APC is a confirmation that APC had failed in its electoral promises. In his view Atiku cannot be underrated or underestimated as far as politics in Nigeria was concerned. He advised those who may wish to join the former VP to do so without further delay.

Political Tempo gathered that the leaders in the PDP have indicated their willingness to accept back their former members and give him the recognition he deserve as a founding member and an elder state man.

Before we are deprived of the “Change”

Opinion Felix Samari: Blogger and Creative writer I dare to say that APC must be cautious as their steps could deny us of the so loudly promised change. I write as a keen observer of what is going on within in the realms of the Nigerian political sphere. It was not what most of us Nigerians expected, though we knew that APC was bound to some storm in the middle but not this kind of confusion especially in less than one month of entering the Center of leadership in Nigeria; an opportunity so desired for some sixteen years.  One thing that was obvious in their predecessors’ moves was indiscipline, wastefulness (this included the waste time), shamelessness, looting, and impunity and so on. The PDP government was said to have been self-seeking, clueless and corrupt. There was long list of accusations and among the party members and to the party and the government. Outside the party circle people were disenchanted and the call for “Change” was seemingly very timely even among n...
