Now that APC Senator Ahmed Abubakar is running unopposed

News sources have published that senator Ahmed Abubakar (MoAllah Idi) is the sole candidate for APC in Adamawa state. This may not be unconnected with their pack on the removal of Senate president Senator Bukola Saraki or as a giveback for their continued loyalty to the party. APC has anoited senators like Shehu Sani of Kaduna central, Goodwill Akpabio and Emmanuel Uduaghan among others as sole candidates. Senator Abubakar no doubt became one of most under estimated personalities in the politics of Adamawa State but today he is making great waves seeing that some strong contenders like Morris Vonobolki, Felix Tangwami and Ahmed Fons Nwangubi were push aside to level way for him. The question will be whether this decision by the All progressives Congress will not be detrimental to itself. One is left to wonder if the person of MoAllah-Idi has mustered enough political goodwill in Adamawa south to be able deliver for the party. Seeing the caliber of candidates showing up in PDP, ...

TRUSTEE WON, A GOVERNOR, AMBODE LOST.

To those who do not understand politics in the sense of zero sum game, learn quick or remain sad through to and beyond 2019, all things as they stand today, being equal. The unity and interest of public, personality and ownership of the soul of APC, Ambode should have known is in the hands and dictates of self appointed “Trustees.” He should have realized that 'continuity' or appointed conductor rest in the ability to equitably distribute the public wealth to the “Trustees” and their “Crumb Eaters.” You cannot, as it is, enter the corridor of power as a technocrat to perform to the interest, dispense and 'expectoration' of the public! Such office, commanding public funds carries in itself the seed of the moral fall of the personality on the seat. The question may then be raised; What use is the exercise of electioneering and the seatings of the different political positions? The answer is simple; Idealism, tagged democracy dictates electioneering exercise be cond...

Before we are deprived of the “Change”

Opinion Felix Samari: Blogger and Creative writer I dare to say that APC must be cautious as their steps could deny us of the so loudly promised change. I write as a keen observer of what is going on within in the realms of the Nigerian political sphere. It was not what most of us Nigerians expected, though we knew that APC was bound to some storm in the middle but not this kind of confusion especially in less than one month of entering the Center of leadership in Nigeria; an opportunity so desired for some sixteen years.  One thing that was obvious in their predecessors’ moves was indiscipline, wastefulness (this included the waste time), shamelessness, looting, and impunity and so on. The PDP government was said to have been self-seeking, clueless and corrupt. There was long list of accusations and among the party members and to the party and the government. Outside the party circle people were disenchanted and the call for “Change” was seemingly very timely even among n...

Earlier the Governor of Kano State had threatened to drag the president to court if he did not declare to contest in the forth coming elections. President Buhari defeated an incumbent president Goodluck Jonathan in a keenly contested election in 2015.
